Classic Car Restoration – Our Projects

Porsche 997 Carrera 2

The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic sports cars to have ever been built and here at IK Sport Classic we have been busy bringing back to life this beautiful 997.2 Carrera back to life.

The car had been in the same family ownership for around a decade, spending much of its life in London. Unfortunately the car was involved in a small accident, damaging the N/S Quarter panel, at which point the car was brought back up North and parked up for long term storage.

After a couple of easy years in storage we were asked to repair the car and get it back on the road. This process began with the removal of the wrap which revealed poor paintwork underneath. Once the wrap had been removed the quarter panel was repaired through a combination of a in-house fabricated repair panel, as well as pulling and planishing the original bodywork back into shape. The car had been fitted with an aftermarket spoiler which had unfortunately become unusable during the accident. The owner happily supplied a replacement spoiler which we adjusted and fitted to a new boot lid. This took significant time to ensure the spoiler worked as intended and fitted to the car correctly.

Once the repair work had been completed we moved onto prepping the full car for a repaint back into its original Silver colour. To ensure a top quality finish as we are known for the both the front and rear bumpers were removed, along with the front splitter. We also fully stripped both doors so they could be painted both inside and out. The car was painted in several stages before being rebuilt and transferred across to our workshop for the servicing and MOT work. On completion the car was handed back to the customer in its former glory, ready for many happy miles.
